Dr. Paul Loper is a consultant, facilitator and cultural change agent, committed to human flourishing. Paul has served organizational clients across sector, including EDF Energy, Non-Violent Communication, Cheil Worldwide, Kellogg’s, Kerry Foods, Franklin Templeton Investments, Glide Memorial Church, and Flixter. He has collaborated with the Story Bridge Project, Dreamfish, and The Banff Centre of Leadership on projects applying movement and performance to leadership development, and organizational culture change initiatives.
His work builds on a strong background in the arts and cross-cultural experiences: his professional performance career from his teens to his mid-thirties, living and working in 16 different countries. An award-winning choreographer, his dance-based work — in a variety of genres, from concerts to performance art to public community projects — grounded his deep facilitation of transformative learning, innovation, flexible forms of leadership, and participatory inquiry. As faculty for St. Mary’s College of California, MA in Leadership program, Paul teaches and coaches managers in government, including Police and Fire departments in the SFBay Area. Paul is a Senior Facilitator for the renowned Interpersonal Dynamics course at the Graduate School of Business and for the Building Interpersonal Skills course through Continuing Studies, also at Stanford University. He has taught or presented at 14 additional colleges and universities, as well as at several national and international conferences. Paul is also a core member of Have More Fun Ltd., an international consultancy that helps teams and individuals embody their values, engage creatively with diversity, and do qualitative research through a combination of improvised movement, visual art, and words. Paul developed the Chormmunity workshop, a collaborative large group method, which utilizing choreography + community-building to empower and deepen a group’s understanding of and creative access to itself. This powerful workshop has been used on three continents, in healthcare, business, education, arts, and social justice settings. He earned his Ph.D. in Learning and Change in Human Systems and his M.A. in Organizational Development and Transformation from the California Institute of Integral Studies. |
